Lecturer – Electronics & Electrical Engineering

About the role

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Lecturer to join the School of Engineering, contributing to teaching in the Electronics & Electrical Engineering discipline. This fixed‑term, 12‑month position involves delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supporting student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess taught modules in Signals and Communication Systems and Signal Processing.
• Prepare lecture materials, tutorials and laboratory sessions.
• Provide academic support and feedback to students.
• Engage with departmental activities and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• PhD and first degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Ability to teach and assess courses in signals, communication systems and signal processing.
• Motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
