Lecturer – Engineering (FE Vocational Courses)

About the role

Merton College is seeking a Lecturer to deliver Further Education vocational engineering courses across Levels 1, 2, 3 and T‑Level programmes. You will support the Head of Section in driving student achievement and provide guidance to the teaching team.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Levels 1‑3 and T‑Level.
• Deliver elements of BTEC Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering.
• Develop teaching schemes, assessment schedules and coursework.
• Monitor student progress and support them to exceed target grades.
• Assist the Head of Section in managing the engineering teaching team.

Required profile

• Degree level (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles.
• Understanding of engineering mathematics and CAD.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience teaching in UK Further Education, including BTEC Level 3 and T‑Levels.
• Recent relevant CPD and awareness of academic quality standards.
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative abilities.
