Lecturer in Environmental Science

About the role

Kingston University is looking for a Lecturer in Environmental Science to join the Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment, within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment. The post is based at Penrhyn Road and involves teaching environmental pollution and remediation (soil, water and air) in field and laboratory settings.

Key responsibilities

• Teach environmental pollution and remediation (soil, water and air) and demonstrate teaching competency in field and laboratory settings.
• Contribute to teaching quantitative research methods and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student environmental research projects.
• Engage with at least one of the core university domains, such as pedagogy, knowledge exchange or academic research.
• Contribute to departmental recruitment and development, and support outreach work with external organisations and partners.
• Contribute to the department's research culture and the university's reputation for research-informed learning.

Required profile

• Doctorate in a related field or an equivalent professional qualification, with the ability to teach Environmental Science.
• Desirable: UKPSF recognition at a relevant level and accreditation from a relevant professional body.
• Desirable: developing a research portfolio with income generation and/or publications; experience managing undergraduate modules and working in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication skills, team working experience and the ability to independently project manage tasks to fixed deadlines.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; staff are expected to be on campus for the majority of the week.
