About the role

Tyne Coast College is seeking a passionate Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join its South Shields campus. You will inspire and support learners pursuing careers in health and social care, delivering high‑quality teaching and contributing to the college’s reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess health and social care curriculum for up to 30 hours per week.
• Provide academic guidance, mentorship and feedback to learners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date industry knowledge and integrate current practice into teaching.
• Contribute to departmental development, quality assurance and safeguarding duties.

Required profile

• Relevant Health and Social Care or healthcare qualification at Level 4 or above.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or higher (or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Assessor/Verifier qualifications or willingness to work towards them.
• Recent vocational experience in a healthcare setting.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in health and social care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Organisational, administrative and IT proficiency.
