About the role
Bath College is seeking an enthusiastic and inclusive Lecturer in Personal Development to deliver high‑quality group tutorials for Construction Skills learners at the Radstock campus. The role supports the college’s preventative, trauma‑informed approach to personal development and contributes to a supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, inclusive group tutorials for Construction Skills learners.
- Contextualise centrally produced personal development resources for vocational groups.
- Facilitate sensitive topics using trauma‑informed, preventative methods.
- Complete safeguarding documentation, tracking and follow‑up in line with college policy.
- Support enrichment activities, campaigns, events and wider personal development initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation of personal development resources for additional learner groups.
- Build positive relationships with learners and promote inclusion and participation.
- Collaborate with curriculum, welfare, safeguarding, enrichment and Student Voice teams.
Required profile
- Level 5 teaching qualification (DET/DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
- Strong written English and confident group facilitation skills.
- Experience in youth work, pastoral support, counselling, mentoring or similar holistic roles.
Required skills
- Effective group facilitation.
- Safeguarding and trauma‑informed practice.
- Ability to adapt and contextualise learning materials.

- Permanent contract (37 hours per week) with a salary range £30,348 – £40,016 per year.
