Lecturer in Public Services

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Public Services professional to join Wiltshire College & University Centre as a Lecturer. You will inspire and support learners to develop the knowledge, professionalism, teamwork and leadership skills required for successful careers in public service environments.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess learners across Public Services programmes, including full‑time courses and enrichment activities.
• Deliver engaging, inclusive sessions in classroom, practical and outdoor settings.
• Support learners in developing leadership, teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, resilience and physical preparedness.
• Embed current public‑service knowledge, professionalism, equality, diversity and community awareness.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and provide learner support.
• Track progress and give constructive feedback to aid achievement and career readiness.

Required profile

• A Level 3 or higher qualification in Public Services, Uniformed Protective Services, Sport, Leadership, Criminology or a related subject.
• Relevant industry experience in emergency services, military, policing, security or broader public sector.
• Understanding of current public‑service practices and employability skills.

Required skills

• Experience in teaching or delivering training to adult learners.
• Ability to create inclusive learning environments.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and learner support procedures.

What we offer

• Salary: £29,294 (unqualified) to £40,814 (qualified) per year.
• Permanent, full‑time contract (37 hours/week).
