Lecturer in Travel & Tourism

About the role

Wakefield College is seeking a dynamic Lecturer in Travel & Tourism to join its Business, Leisure & Tourism team. You will deliver high‑quality teaching across a range of travel and tourism programmes, supporting learners aged 16‑18 to achieve their qualifications and progress to the next stage of their careers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess teaching sessions for multiple travel and tourism courses.
• Contribute to curriculum design, development and continuous improvement.
• Provide academic guidance and support to students, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with fellow specialists to ensure a cohesive programme offering.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with college policies, including safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Travel & Tourism or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• GCSE (or Level 2) grades A*‑C (9‑4) in Maths and English.
• PGCE or another recognised full teaching qualification.
• Experience working with 16‑18‑year‑olds, preferably in a teaching capacity.
• Prior experience as a teacher/lecturer in Travel & Tourism or a comparable field.
