Lecturer – Inclusive Learning (ASD & Behaviour of Concern)

About the role
Merton College is seeking a dedicated Lecturer to lead inclusive learning programmes for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and behaviours of concern. You will provide both academic instruction in Maths and English and pastoral support, ensuring learners achieve their vocational aspirations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver tutorial and pastoral care for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties.
- Act as Course Leader, overseeing study programmes, assessment, and accreditation.
- Plan curriculum, develop learning materials, and embed Maths and English for SEND.
- Monitor work‑experience activities and liaise with external agencies.
- Manage challenging behaviour and apply assistive technology to support learning.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation frameworks such as RARPA.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with a relevant professional qualification.
- Proven experience working with SEND learners and understanding of their needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and stay updated on curriculum reforms.
- Knowledge of post‑16 assessment strategies and accreditation processes.
- Experience developing curricula to meet evolving FE sector demands.
