About the role

Loughborough University’s School of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Criminology. The position is full‑time, open‑ended and based on the Loughborough campus, offering a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in criminology and related subjects.
• Develop and lead research projects, securing external funding where possible.
• Supervise student dissertations and research projects.
• Contribute to departmental administration, curriculum development and quality assurance.
• Engage with external partners and the wider community to promote knowledge exchange and impact.

Required profile

• A focused research agenda in criminology or criminal justice with a growing record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated commitment to student‑centred teaching and enhancing the student experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a research‑intensive, interdisciplinary department.
• Experience in methodological approaches relevant to criminology research.
