Legal Accountant – London Law Firm

About the role

McKinlay Law is seeking an experienced Legal Accountant to join its finance team in Central London. You will support partners and associates with a range of financial queries, ensuring the firm’s accounts are accurate, compliant and efficiently managed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist partners and associates with day‑to‑day financial queries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and review bank reconciliations and balance‑sheet items.
• Submit VAT returns and support external accountants during audits.
• Develop and improve accounting processes and assist with budgeting for partners.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analytics.
• Working knowledge of SARs, AML, SRA and SAR rules.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a law‑firm environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
