Legal Assistant

About the role

The Legal Assistant will join Birketts LLP’s Social Housing team within the Real Estate Division, based in Sevenoaks, supporting a range of affordable housing matters for registered providers, local authorities, housebuilders and public sector bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in advising clients on the full lifecycle of affordable housing projects, including development, regeneration, acquisitions and management.
• Support litigation, asset and leasehold management, shared ownership and Right to Buy matters.
• Provide integrated legal support across planning, construction, employment, corporate, funding and public sector work.
• Help handle sensitive and high‑risk issues such as disrepair, building safety, anti‑social behaviour and fire safety, as well as large‑scale development and regeneration schemes.
