Legal Associate

About the role

BlackRock’s Preqin division is expanding its Legal Insights team and is looking for a Legal Associate to support the FAIR (Fee and Expense Analysis & Reporting) service for private‑market clients. This position blends legal expertise with data‑driven analysis in a fast‑paced, process‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review private‑fund documentation such as LPAs, side letters, and MFNs.
• Analyse legal fee and term data using standard templates.
• Identify non‑standard drafting, missing documents, and interpretation issues.
• Support FAIR validation and client reporting through accurate legal analysis.
• Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and operations teams to deliver high‑quality outputs.

Required profile

• Legal qualification or equivalent legal experience.
• Experience reviewing complex legal agreements.
• Strong attention to detail and structured analytical skills.
• Interest in private markets and fund documentation.
• Comfortable working in a high‑volume, process‑driven environment.
