Legal Cashier – Manage Client Money & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Legal Cashier to join our Chester office. The role involves handling client money in line with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and supporting the finance team within a fast‑moving legal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle client money in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
• Process client receipts and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations for client and office accounts.
• Prepare month‑end and periodic financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Process and reconcile petty cash transactions.
• Assist with financial audits and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience as a Legal Cashier.
• Strong understanding of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal accounting software.
