Legal Cashier – Taunton (South West England)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our finance team in Taunton. You will play a key role in maintaining the firm’s accounts in line with SRA Accounts Rules and supporting day‑to‑day financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process client and office account transactions.
• Manage bank reconciliations and keep financial records accurate.
• Maintain client and office ledgers, raise bills and monitor outstanding payments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end accounting processes, including VAT returns.
• Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and report any potential breaches.
• Liaise with fee earners, colleagues, banks, auditors and other external parties.
• Assist with additional finance and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm.
• Solid understanding of SRA Accounts Rules.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Professional and confidential handling of financial information.

Required skills

• Legal accounts software (e.g., Clio, LEAP, or similar).
