Lending Operations Manager – Mortgages

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lending Operations Manager to lead our mortgage operations team in Glasgow. This hybrid role (three days onsite) will drive operational excellence across the full mortgage origination lifecycle, supporting our ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day mortgage operations, ensuring service levels and quality standards are met.
• Manage pipeline volumes, allocate workflow, and optimise team capacity to improve turnaround times.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Develop, monitor and report operational KPIs using management information.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of 12 mortgage professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with Risk, Sales, Compliance and Technology teams to align operational initiatives with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty requirements and internal controls.
• Handle operational escalations, resolve service issues and maintain excellent outcomes for customers and broker partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mortgage operations within a regulated lending environment.
• Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage origination process and intermediary lending.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop operational teams.
• Track record of delivering process improvements and driving efficiency.
