About the role
We are seeking a caring Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a primary school setting. You will work closely with teachers and the SENDCO to help each child access learning and achieve personal goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other SEND requirements.
- Adapt learning activities to suit individual pupils and promote independence.
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour using positive reinforcement and consistent strategies.
- Assist with interventions aimed at improving literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SENDCO to implement personalised support plans.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Recent UK school‑based experience (within the last 2 years) – essential.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND – highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and behaviour‑management abilities.
- A calm, patient and flexible approach.
