Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Nursery & Pre‑School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the nursery team at Wyre Primary School. You will work with children aged 2 to 4 years, supporting their early learning and wellbeing throughout the Autumn term.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher and nursery staff in delivering play‑based learning activities.
• Support children’s social, emotional and educational development.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Provide personal care assistance when required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Observe, record and report on children’s progress and achievements.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in an Early Years, Nursery or Pre‑School setting.
• Caring, patient and proactive attitude towards young children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
