Level 3 Asbestos Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship

About the role

Full Circle Compliance is offering a Level 3 Asbestos Laboratory Technician apprenticeship based in Chelmsford. You will support the analysis of bulk asbestos samples, laboratory operations and reporting to ensure accurate, compliant results and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples in line with HSG 248 and work towards the RSPH Level 3 Award.
• Prepare and issue bulk certificate documentation according to contract KPIs.
• Assist Laboratory Supervisors with stock management, equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in QC/UKAS procedures and maintain laboratory targets and KPIs.
• Communicate sample status to team members and clients, providing regular updates.

• Enjoys focused, detailed work and takes pride in accuracy.
• Comfortable in a structured environment with clear procedures and predictable routines.
• Patient, methodical and able to concentrate for long periods on detailed tasks.
• Capable of working independently while adhering to strict documentation and quality checks.

Required skills

• Asbestos bulk analysis following HSG 248 guidelines.
• Microscope operation for sample examination.
• Knowledge of QC and UKAS quality procedures.
• Understanding of RSPH Level 3 Award requirements.
