Level 3 Qualified 1:1 Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Level 3 Qualified 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in North Liverpool. The role involves providing dedicated one‑to‑one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
• Assist the pupil in accessing curriculum content and engaging in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver targets set out in the EHCP, IEP or individual support plans.
• Plan, adapt and deliver learning activities, resources and teaching strategies to meet the pupil’s needs.
• Support communication skills, language development and social interaction.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, self‑regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encourage independence, confidence and sustained engagement in learning.
• Contribute Level 3 knowledge and experience to the wider classroom environment.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream or specialist school setting.
• Ability to work full‑time on site in a primary school environment.
