Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Preston)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Preston from 1st September. The role offers the chance to support children’s learning and development in a positive, inclusive environment while working closely with class teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provide targeted intervention to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy.
• Support pupils with varying learning needs, including additional support requirements.
• Prepare classroom resources, organise materials and manage classroom set‑up.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning atmosphere.
• Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Participate in wider school activities as needed.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting learning.
• Effective classroom management abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
