Level 3 Teaching Assistant – SEN (Autism)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a leading Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Warrington. You will work directly with children on the autism spectrum and those displaying challenging behaviour, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one support to students with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support emotional and social development.
• Help students develop essential life skills such as communication and self‑regulation.
• Collaborate with the SEN team to create and adapt resources for individual learners.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working in SEN settings, particularly with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and behaviour management techniques.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing student and school needs.
