Level 3 Teaching Assistant – SEN Hub (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our primary school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) Hub in North Liverpool. This full‑time, fixed‑term position runs for the full academic year and supports pupils with a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with communication, cognition, learning, and social‑emotional needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Assist pupils with personal care while maintaining dignity and independence.
• Promote inclusion, positive relationships and a nurturing environment within the SEN Hub and wider school.
• Observe, monitor and record pupil progress, feeding feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
