Level 6 Early Years Practitioner – Full‑time (Temporary)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Level 6 Early Years Practitioner to lead the EYFS provision in a diverse primary school in Croydon. This full‑time temporary position offers the chance to shape curriculum, support staff and ensure every child receives a strong start to their education.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, including planning and assessment.
• Lead, motivate and manage the Early Years teaching team.
• Maintain high standards of practice and continuous improvement.
• Manage behaviour and create a nurturing, positive learning environment.
• Work closely with children who have SEN and EAL needs.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are fully implemented.

Required profile

• BA degree in Childcare, Early Years, Education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Early Years setting.
• Proven experience in managing behaviour and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and best practices.
• Experience supporting children with SEN and EAL.
• Current safeguarding training.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

• Competitive daily rate of £105‑£120, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time hours: 08:00‑16:00, Monday‑Friday (term time only).
