Life & Income Protection Insurance Apprentice 2027

About the role

Howden is recruiting a Level 3 Insurance apprentice for its Life & Income Protection team in Gloucester, starting in September 2027. You will join on a permanent role and complete an 18-month development programme, earning £23,000. The team helps customers protect their financial future against serious illness, inability to work due to injury or illness, and bereavement.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced advisors to assess customer requirements and recommend suitable insurance protection
• Build rapport with customers and help understand their background and medical history
• Keep accurate client records across multiple systems
• Deliver customer service and manage telephone conversations professionally and empathetically
• Work with underwriters and help chase missing information

Required profile

• No insurance experience needed; training is provided
• Full and unrestricted right to work in the UK
• Lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years
• Grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths
• Not already holding a qualification that significantly overlaps with this apprenticeship
• Resilient, detail-oriented and able to follow processes accurately
