Lifeguard – Forest Hill Pools Leisure Centre

About the role

Join GLL as a Lifeguard at Forest Hill Pools Leisure Centre in Lewisham, London. You will ensure the safety of swimmers while delivering first‑class customer service in a vibrant community leisure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through pool shifts, supervising swimmers and maintaining a safe environment.
• Clean and tidy the pool area, set up equipment, and perform routine health‑and‑safety checks.
• Provide excellent customer service, handling queries and supporting visitors.
• Assist the team with preparing studios, gyms, and sports halls for activities and general centre upkeep.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Passionate about swimming and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Good team player with knowledge of health and safety.
• Ideally holds a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ); training can be provided if you pass a swim test.

Required skills

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or willingness to obtain it.
• Health and safety knowledge.
