Lifeguard – Pool & Facility Support

About the role

Join GLL as a Lifeguard at The White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. You will ensure the safety of pool users while delivering excellent customer service and supporting the overall operation of the centre.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate regularly between pool duties and other facility areas.
• Supervise swimmers and maintain a clean, safe pool environment.
• Set up and maintain pool equipment.
• Provide first‑class customer service and address visitor queries.
• Assist with preparing studios, gyms, and sports halls for activities.
• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Passionate about swimming and able to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Team player who can support colleagues across the site.
• Ideally holds a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ); training can be provided subject to a swim test.
