Lifeguard – Redhill Leisure Centre

About the role

GLL is hiring two Lifeguards to join the team at Donyngs Leisure Centre in Redhill. This role combines pool safety, customer service and support for the wider leisure facilities, offering a solid foundation for a career in lifesaving and community recreation.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through pool shifts, supervising swimmers and ensuring safe water conditions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and set up equipment for activities.
• Provide first‑class customer service, answering queries and assisting visitors.
• Support other centre areas – studios, gyms and sports halls – with preparation and general upkeep when not poolside.

Required profile

• Calm under pressure with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Excellent team player with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Can‑do attitude and genuine passion for swimming.

Required skills

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) – current training records preferred; training can be provided after a swim test.
