Lift Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Lift Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction business in the South West of England. The role involves carrying out statutory LOLER inspections, servicing and maintaining a variety of lifting equipment, and providing expert advice to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform LOLER inspections on lifts and other lifting equipment to the highest standard.
• Visit customer sites, examine equipment, and produce detailed inspection reports.
• Survey existing plant, assess compliance with health & safety and disability legislation, and recommend refurbishment or replacement solutions.
• Benchmark installations against internal quality standards and document findings.
• Provide professional feedback on incumbent service providers and suggest improvements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of lift products, accessories, and related regulations.
• Complete test certificates and associated paperwork accurately and promptly.

Required profile

• Qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in lift service, maintenance, and inspection.
• Ability to work autonomously in a customer‑facing role.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
