Lift Engineer – Talent Pool (Greater Manchester)

About the role

Join Schindler's engineering talent pool as a Lift Engineer based in Greater Manchester. You will be the first to be considered for upcoming lift service and maintenance positions, helping to keep elevators, escalators and moving walks safe and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and minor repairs of lift equipment following approved procedures.
• Inspect and adjust lifts, checking speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies.
• Diagnose and resolve faults using technical manuals, diagnostic test equipment and company‑issued tooling.
• Complete service documentation and reinstate lifts to operational status.
• Conduct site surveys and advanced fault‑finding when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 in Lift Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, with experience on multi‑brand equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain high standards of efficiency.
