Lift Service Engineer

About the role

Schindler is seeking a Lift Service Engineer to join its local team in Aberdeenshire. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a portfolio of lift equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, minor repairs and component replacements in line with company procedures.
• Perform fault rectification, including speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power‑supply checks using approved tools.
• Inspect, adjust and reinstate lift installations, completing all required service documentation.
• Execute fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures with technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in lift maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently.
• Good communication skills with clients, service leaders and inspectors.

Required skills

• Advanced electrical knowledge of lift systems.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge of lift components.
• Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of multi‑brand lift equipment.
• Use of diagnostic test equipment and hand/power tools.
• Adherence to health & safety procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+).
