Lift Service Engineer

About the role

Rubax is seeking a Lift Service Engineer to join its team of 24/7 lift specialists. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing lift and escalator equipment across the South East England region, ensuring safety and reliability for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and minor repairs on lift equipment in line with company procedures.
• Diagnose and rectify faults, performing checks on speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply.
• Inspect, adjust and service escalator installations according to approved guidelines.
• Complete service documentation and reinstate lifts after maintenance.
• Use technical manuals, diagnostic tools and company‑issued equipment to restore equipment to service.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements, including PPE and safe work practices.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in lift maintenance.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand lift systems.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and good communication with clients and team members.
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and repetitive lifting tasks.
