Link Worker – Special Education Support

About the role

The Link Worker will join Meadows School, a special day school run by Barnardo's, supporting pupils aged 5 to 19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Working on a beautiful 19‑acre campus, you will help students maximise their potential while promoting resilience and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with an EHCP or in the process of obtaining one.
• Collaborate with families, teachers and external agencies to develop and implement personalised plans.
• Promote a culture of respect, tolerance and kindness throughout the school.
• Assist in delivering a broad curriculum, including GCSEs, BTECs and vocational qualifications.
• Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards and complete all pre‑employment checks.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and special education frameworks.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with families and external agencies.
