Linux Administrator

About the role

Aspect Capital is seeking a Linux Administrator to join its infrastructure team in London. This position is ideal for an early‑career professional with a solid grounding in Linux systems administration who wants to work in a highly automated, enterprise‑grade environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support and administer Linux systems (Ubuntu and RHEL) across the firm’s estate.
• Assist with the build, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Linux hosts and services.
• Work with configuration‑management and infrastructure‑as‑code tools to automate provisioning.
• Help support cloud‑based services and related automation workflows.
• Troubleshoot system, performance, and availability issues.
• Contribute to documentation and operational best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of relevant experience in Linux administration.
• Strong understanding of core Linux concepts such as services, filesystems, networking, permissions and logging.
• Experience collaborating in mixed Linux and Microsoft environments.
• Familiarity with automation or configuration‑management tools (e.g., Puppet).
• Basic scripting ability in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Interest in infrastructure automation and cloud technologies.
