Linux (RHEL) Systems Administrator / Engineer – SC Cleared

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Linux (RHEL) Systems Administrator / Engineer with Security Clearance (SC) to join a hybrid team, working on‑site two to three days a week. The role involves maintaining, upgrading and housekeeping of production Linux environments while ensuring compliance and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7‑10) production systems.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting.
• Plan and prioritise project delivery activities.
• Manage virtualised Linux workloads on VMware.
• Operate within the ITIL framework for incident, problem and change management.
• Administer systems via Red Hat Satellite (RHN).
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a technical Linux support or delivery role.
• Familiarity with request, problem and project management tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and drive projects end‑to‑end.
• Understanding of risk, compliance, audit and security obligations.
