Litigation Solicitor / Legal Executive

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a busy litigation team within a Legal 500 firm in Margate, Kent. The role offers a varied commercial and civil litigation caseload, combining autonomy, regular client contact and high‑quality contentious work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters from instruction to resolution.
• Advise on property disputes, including residential and commercial landlord‑tenant issues.
• Handle employment disputes for individuals and businesses.
• Manage probate and inheritance disputes.
• Advise on contractual and general commercial disputes.
• Deal with boundary, ownership and neighbour disputes.
• Issue and progress court proceedings, drafting pleadings, witness statements and other documentation.
• Attend court hearings and conferences with counsel.
• Instruct counsel, experts and other professional advisers.
• Support senior colleagues on complex, high‑value disputes and build long‑term client relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (NQ to 5 years PQE).
• Experience managing a varied litigation caseload.
• Confidence in handling court proceedings and dispute resolution processes.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and case management abilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
• Empathetic, commercially aware and solutions‑focused approach.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet procedural deadlines.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary between £45,000 and £65,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Hybrid working model – two days remote per week after probation.
