Loan & Mortgage Documentation Officer

About the role

This position supports a leading commercial banking brand in London, handling end‑to‑end documentation for residential mortgages, buy‑to‑let, commercial real‑estate loans and a small portfolio of SME working capital and trade finance facilities. The role is full‑time and requires close collaboration with internal teams and external solicitors, valuers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare in‑house term sheets, facility letters, addenda and borrower consents promptly after credit approval.
• Obtain and manage fee quotes from panel valuers and solicitors, and coordinate their appointment.
• Review valuation reports, monitor legal conveyancing progress and ensure all conditions precedent are satisfied.
• Oversee queries from solicitors and valuers, escalating complex issues to senior credit administration leaders.
• Execute disbursement processes, book loan limits and collateral in the bank’s systems, and assess title and valuation reports for risk.
• Post‑completion, collect signed credit documents, ensure charge perfection, and maintain an accurate filing system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit or mortgage administration within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of loan documentation, legal conveyancing and valuation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and solid organisational skills.
