Local Authority Partnerships & School Placements Manager

About the role

The Local Authority Partnerships & School Placements Manager will lead the referral, assessment and placement coordination for SEND schools across the group. Working primarily from Harrow, you will act as the trusted liaison between local authorities, families and schools to ensure placements are handled efficiently, ethically and in line with pupil needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with SEND case officers, commissioning teams and SEN managers in local authorities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for placement discussions and referral coordination.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end referral pipeline, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
• Coordinate assessments, school visits, parent meetings and transition planning.
• Track referrals from enquiry through to placement outcome and maintain accurate records.
• Support families throughout the admissions process, providing clear communication and resolving concerns.
• Monitor referral trends, conversion rates and occupancy forecasting, producing regular management reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with SEND placements or similar education liaison roles.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with local authority professionals.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple referrals and maintain detailed records.
