Local Divisional Manager – North Region

About the role

RS is seeking an experienced, collaborative leader to oversee the performance of its local branches across the North of the UK, from Birmingham to Aberdeen. This hybrid role combines remote work, office time, and frequent visits to branch locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a network strategy that optimises branch performance, drives marketplace disruption and upholds compliance.
• Lead a high‑performance culture focused on sustainable, profitable sales growth and a world‑class customer experience.
• Deliver the RS brand promise of “Seamless, Personal and Progressive” through soft‑skill and customer experience programmes.
• Coach and develop 8‑9 RS Local Branch Managers, setting KPIs and fostering people‑management excellence.
• Maintain quality assurance against internal and external audits.
• Identify and act on revenue opportunities, nurture customer relationships and align the local proposition with market needs.
• Champion process improvement initiatives to eliminate non‑value activities and implement governance frameworks.
• Improve stock turn through merchandising, marketing and inventory optimisation.
• Manage an operational budget of £4 million and drive channel revenue exceeding £50 million, with a goal to double it within 3‑5 years.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a complex, multi‑branch organisation.
• Strong track record of delivering sales growth and operational excellence.
• Ability to coach managers and build high‑performing teams.
• Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of retail operations.
