Local Safeguarding Board Training and Development Officer

About the role
Join the Safeguarding Directorate in Havering as a Local Safeguarding Board Training and Development Officer. You will design and deliver training programmes that protect children and adults while supporting the professional growth of board members.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an annual safeguarding training programme for both children and adult boards.
- Organise engaging training events tailored to community needs.
- Promote the work of Havering Safeguarding Boards through impactful training and events.
- Analyse training outcomes and present quarterly reports to improve service quality.
- Conduct annual training needs analyses and deliver at least 30 sessions per year.
- Establish and manage a network of approved trainers while maintaining quality assurance.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to strengthen safeguarding practices.
Required profile
- Strong communicator with experience in training and development.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Proactive approach to improving outcomes and addressing identified gaps.
Required skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
- Ability to analyse training outcomes and produce reports.
- Experience organising training events.
