Logistics Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join a fast‑paced, project‑led business operating globally. You will be the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day shipping activities, ensuring materials are delivered safely, compliantly and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate freight bookings and transport arrangements to meet project and vessel schedules.
• Act as the main point of contact for daily shipping and logistics enquiries.
• Prepare, review and manage shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Support customs clearance activities and advise on international shipping requirements.
• Obtain and review freight quotations, comparing costs and service levels.
• Identify potential logistics risks and provide practical solutions to minimise disruption.
• Build strong relationships with freight providers, project teams and external partners.
• Provide operational support during management absences to ensure continuity.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting new systems, process enhancements and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating import and export shipments.
• Good understanding of customs procedures and international shipping documentation.
• Experience obtaining and reviewing freight quotations.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence to liaise with internal teams and external logistics providers.
• Proactive approach to identifying issues and finding practical solutions.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using business systems.
