Logistics Operations Coordinator

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position supports a busy transport planning team within an established national logistics operation. Based near CO6, you will ensure the administrative side of daily operations runs smoothly, providing essential information and booking support for drivers, field teams and planners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the transport and logistics planning team.
• Book hotels, accommodation and ad‑hoc travel for drivers and field‑based colleagues.
• Prepare and update job information, work instructions, site‑access details and customer requirements.
• Act as a communication link between planners, drivers, field teams, sales colleagues and operational managers.
• Monitor shared inboxes, calls and Teams messages, routing information and following up actions.
• Maintain accurate records, trackers and operational systems.
• Support vehicle availability, maintenance bookings, servicing, MOTs and defect reporting.
• Assist with service‑area charges, receipts, purchase information and other delivery‑related administration.
• Help collate data for operational reports, customer updates and cost tracking.
• Provide additional coordination during busy periods and operational incidents.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, transport, fleet, scheduling or a similarly fast‑paced operational administration environment.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator who can liaise professionally with drivers, colleagues, customers and suppliers.
• Calm, practical and proactive when plans change or urgent requests arise.

What we offer

• 6‑month fixed‑term contract with the aim of progressing to a permanent planner role.
• Salary range £32,000‑£33,000 per year.
