Long Term PE & History Teacher (Full‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

The Long Term PE & History Teacher will deliver high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 at Telford Langley School. You will create engaging, inclusive learning experiences in both Physical Education and History, supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver stimulating PE and History lessons in line with the National Curriculum and school policies.
• Assess, record and report pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organised classroom that promotes engagement and achievement.
• Develop differentiated teaching strategies for pupils of varying abilities.
• Contribute to curriculum development and scheme of work for both departments.
• Prepare pupils for external examinations and assessments.
• Participate in departmental and whole‑school meetings, training and professional development.
• Promote positive behaviour and uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Engage with parents and carers to support pupil well‑being.
• Support extra‑curricular activities related to PE and History.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognition to teach in England.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Physical Education, History, or a closely related subject.
• Strong GCSE/Level 3 results in English and Mathematics.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in teaching practice and subject knowledge.
• Proven experience teaching PE and History to secondary pupils, preferably Key Stages 3‑4.
