Long-Term Supply Science Teacher – Durham

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a high‑achieving secondary school in Durham on a long‑term supply basis. The role starts in September 2026 and runs through Easter 2026, offering the chance to inspire students across physics, chemistry and biology.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that meet the national curriculum.
• Conduct hands‑on experiments and activities to spark curiosity.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop innovative resources and teaching strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Specialisation in Science with strong knowledge of Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
• Passion for science education and the ability to motivate learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and creativity in tailoring teaching methods.
