M&A Analyst/Associate – Energy & Infrastructure Investment Banking

About the role

We are expanding our Energy & Infrastructure platform in London and are looking for motivated M&A analysts or junior associates to join a leading European investment bank. The role focuses on UK and pan‑European clients across renewable energy, power generation, utilities and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Support the execution of mandated transactions, including preparation of NDAs, mandate letters, prospectuses and due‑diligence materials.
• Create marketing collateral such as pitch books, RFP responses and teaser documents.
• Develop and maintain financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models) to evaluate potential deals.
• Conduct sector and product research, benchmarking companies and analysing credit and valuation metrics.

Required profile

• Experience as an M&A analyst in a large investment bank, boutique, Big 4 or specialist modelling firm.
• Prior exposure to Energy & Infrastructure transactions and a strong interest in power generation, renewables, utilities or related infrastructure.
• High motivation, strong work ethic and passion for the sector.
• Understanding of buy‑side, sell‑side, public merger and acquisition processes.

Required skills

• Financial modelling from scratch, including operational, accounting and debt‑facility components.
• Valuation techniques: DCF, IRR, FCFE, comparable company analysis.
• Credit analysis and assessment of financial statements.
• Proficiency in building LBO and merger models.
