Machine Operative – Embroidery Production

About the role

We are seeking a Machine Operative to join a prestigious embroidery firm in Durham. You will operate and maintain specialised embroidery machinery, ensuring high‑quality logos and designs are applied to garments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain embroidery machines and related hand tools.
• Thread reels and set up items on various machines.
• Upload programmes and artwork onto machinery.
• Monitor machine performance, report faults and perform basic maintenance.
• Inspect finished garments, pack, label and bag items according to production drawings.
• Follow strict health and safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Physical fitness to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and good problem‑solving ability.
• Organised and able to follow production specifications.

Required skills

• Embroidery machine operation.
• Machine maintenance basics.
• Technical drawing interpretation.
• Program and artwork uploading.
