Machine Operative – Piling Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operative to join a specialist ground‑solutions company in the South West. You will operate 50‑tonne piling rigs on construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient installation of foundations while supporting a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate 50‑tonne piling equipment, including drop hammer, bore drilling and sheet‑piling rigs.
• Maintain rigs and associated tools to high safety and performance standards.
• Manage and move materials required for piling operations.
• Supervise a small crew, providing guidance and advice on‑site.
• Travel to sites across the Southwest and, when required, nationwide.

Required profile

• Qualified Machine Operative holding valid piling rig tickets.
• Willingness to work on‑site, primarily in the Southwest, with occasional travel.
• Ability to work 10‑hour days, Monday‑Friday, with overtime at 1.5× rate.

• Piling rig certification.
