Machine Operator – Mobile Plant (Full‑time)

About the role

Envar, a leading producer of soil improvers and compost, is seeking a full‑time Machine Operator to run mobile plant at its Woodhurst site. The role involves operating machinery safely, supporting waste‑management operations and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant and machinery, including 360° material handler, to maintain safe and efficient site operations.
• Perform daily and weekly equipment checks, refuel, lubricate, and report any defects or breakdowns promptly.
• Maintain a tidy work area, keep walkways and emergency exits clear, and use appropriate PPE at all times.
• Report contamination, non‑conforming waste, accidents, incidents, near‑misses and environmental hazards to the supervisor.
• Assist with manual handling tasks, waste‑management activities and support other operatives as required.
• Undertake training to operate additional plant or take on supervisory duties when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience operating a 360° driver‑controlled vehicle.
• Proven ability to operate mobile plant safely and follow H&S policies.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards environmental issues.
• Flexibility, strong time‑management and attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
