Machine Operator – Orange Shift (4 on/4 off)

About the role

The Machine Operator (Orange shift) works on a 4‑on/4‑off rotating schedule, covering both day and night shifts at Greencore’s Leeds plant. You will join a team that produces a large proportion of the UK’s frozen Yorkshire puddings, ensuring safe and efficient operation of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery, following standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine condition monitoring.
• Carry out basic maintenance and assist engineering teams with repairs.
• Complete and sign off quality documentation in line with GMP.
• Check critical control points for product safety and initiate corrective actions when required.
• Collaborate with line support, hygiene operatives, shift managers and engineering staff to maintain line efficiency.

Required profile

• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of factory machinery (preferred).
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to work both day and night shifts on a rotating basis.
