Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant will ensure the care home environment remains safe, well‑maintained and comfortable for residents and staff. Working on‑site at Clarence Park Residential & Nursing Care Home, you will support a specialist complex‑care setting by carrying out routine and reactive maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, basic electrical checks and installations across the building and grounds.
• Maintain equipment and building systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and support scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Follow health‑and‑safety procedures and minimise disruption to residents during work.
• Collaborate with the wider care team to uphold a clean and organised environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and prioritise tasks.
• Understanding of health‑and‑safety practices within a care setting.
• Proactive, practical problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• General repair and building maintenance knowledge.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting.
