Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The Maintenance Coordinator will ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff at Merlin Court Care Home. You will oversee the smooth operation of all building systems and maintain high standards of upkeep throughout the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Promptly resolve maintenance issues across plumbing, heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, electrical and other building systems.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Engage and manage approved contractors, sourcing alternatives when needed.
• Respond to emergencies affecting the building fabric or its systems.
• Provide day‑to‑day supervision of the Maintenance Assistant, including scheduling, performance reviews and holiday authorisation.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Good grasp of safety and fire‑safety systems.
• Ability to make responsible decisions in the best interest of residents.
